John Heath Lovenburg

February 15, 1969 — September 30, 2024

John H. Lovenburg, 55, of Enders, Nebraska, passed away on September 30, 2024. John was a dedicated and hardworking man whose life was marked by service, family, and a passion for mechanics and the outdoors. Visitation will be held at Bullock-long Funeral Home in Grant from 10-11 A.M. on Monday, October 7, 2024, with graveside services taking place the same day at 2:00 P.M. in the Madrid Cemetery with full military honors. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made in care of the family to be designated at a later date.

John attended high school in Wauneta before joining the Army in 1986, where he served until 1987. He continued his commitment to his country by joining the Army Reserves, serving from 1987 until 1994. In 1995, John met Stephanie Weigel, welcoming her son, Zack, into his life. The couple later had a daughter, Amber, in 1996. Although John and Stephanie later divorced, John remained a devoted father.

John had an exceptional love and talent for working on vehicles of all kinds, especially diesel and heavy equipment. In 1993, he and his father, Harvey, founded Lovenburg Transportation and Repair. Together, they built the business into a cornerstone of the community, operating successfully for 31 years.

John was a man who loved his family deeply, especially his four beautiful grandchildren. Known affectionately as "Pop Pop," he cherished every moment spent with them. John had a warm heart and a generous spirit. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and anything to do with the outdoors. He was a simple man, not refined, but always kind and loving.

John was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Willard (Dick) and Mary Ann Aurich, and his paternal grandparents, Harvey Sr. and Rosalie Lovenburg.

He is survived by his father, Harvey Donald Lovenburg Jr.; his mother, Marlene, and her husband, Bob Kepler; his daughter, Amber, and her fiancé, Anselmo Perez; his son, Zack Redshaw, and his wife, Martina; his grandchildren, Taylor and Sylor Redshaw, Leonardo and Banks Perez, as well as Anselmo Perez Jr.; his brother, Nick, and his wife, Amanda Kepler; and their children, Peyton, Tanner, and Trey.

John's legacy of hard work, love for family, and passion for the outdoors will be remembered by all who knew him. He will be deeply missed.
