Gerald Leroy Klug

February 13, 1941 — December 6, 2015

JERRY KLUG of Venango, NE, passed away Sunday, December 6th, 2015 at Perkins County Hospital in Grant, he was 74.

Jerry was born on February 13th, 1941 in Ovid, Colorado to John and Helen (Frank) Klug. He graduated from Lorenzo High School in 1960. He married his bride of 54 years, Geraldine Maahs, on August 20th, 1961 in Julesburg, CO. They moved to Venango in 1967 where they raised two kids and began a lifetime of memories. Jerry's passions were family, farming and community. His enthusiasm for life built lifetime friendships, many friends would drive miles on the weekends to spend time with Jerry in "the shop".

Survivors include his wife, Geraldine of Venango; son, Scott (Darcy) Klug of Fremont; daughter Natalie (David) Shields of Houston, TX; 6 grandchildren, Nicholas (Jessica), Megan, Emma, Sarah, Preston and Dawson; his siblings, Eddie, Rod, Paulette, Arnold, Mary, Lily, Kenny, Danny and Pam. Jerry was preceded in death by his parents and brother Keenan Klug.

Memorial services will be on Friday, December 11th, 2015 at 11:00 AM at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Venango with Reverend Kurt Hatteberg officiating. Condolences may be shared at, where the service will be streamed live for those unable to attend.

A memorial has been established in Jerry's memory for later designation. Memorial book signing will be held on Thursday December 10th, 2015 from 1:00 PM - 5:00 PM at the Bullock-Long Funeral Home in Grant.
