George R. Perlinger

September 28, 1923 — October 19, 2021

George Perlinger, 98 of rural Elsie, passed away peacefully October 19, 2021, at his son's home in Littleton, CO.

George was born September 28, 1923, firstborn child to George Paul and Anna Clara (Schram) Perlinger at home on their farm south of Paxton. He would be the eldest of 9 children.

On April 19, 1949, George married Margaret Hansen in Omaha. Two sons were born to this union, Ronald and Glenn. The family made their home on a farm northwest of Elsie, where they lived for their entire lives.

George was a lifelong agricultural farmer who also raised cattle. He was also a dirt mover for many years and was given a soil conservation award for his work in terraces and pits. He enjoyed skiing into his 80's. He was the oldest competitor in a hand-corn-husking competition at age 96. George loved playing cards, sudoku and crossword puzzles, reading, and good conversation.

George was a family man who loved having company over and attending family reunions. He was a wonderful grandfather and great-grandfather.

George was a longtime member of the Resurrection of Our Lord Catholic Church in Elsie. He was a man of great faith and prayed the Rosary daily. He served as an acolyte in the church well into his 90's and always enjoyed the church community immensely.

George was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Margaret; his parents; and siblings, Doris Henvey, Elizabeth Holmstedt, Majorie Hayes, Francis Perlinger, Cecilia Perlinger, and Edward Perlinger.

Survivors include his two sons, Ronald, of Aurora, CO, and Glenn, of Littleton, CO; five grandchildren, Sarah (Justin) of Arlington, VA, Amy of Wheat Ridge, CO, Jennifer (Justin) of Aurora, CO, Brian of Littleton, CO, and Julie Perlinger of Littleton, CO; five great-grandchildren, Charlie and Maggie of Aurora, CO, Lucia of Wheat Ridge, CO, and Teddy and Pruitt of Arlington VA; siblings, Agnes (Al) Kelley of Ashland, NE, Pat Perlinger of Lone Tree, CO, and Donna Johnson of Woodhull, IL., along with many other relatives and friends.
