Bradley Alan McArtor

April 11, 1966 — April 23, 2025

Bradley Alan "Bam Bam" McArtor, 59, of Grant, passed away on April 23, 2025, at Swedish Medical Center in Denver, Colorado.

Brad was born April 11, 1966, in Lincoln, Nebraska, to Jerry V. and Carolyn (McCulley) McArtor. He graduated from Perkins County High School in 1984 and completed his education in diesel mechanics at Goodland Vo-Tech. After graduating, Brad worked for Perry Dudden at the Dudden Implement for a number of years. In 1994, Brad ventured out to establish Bam Bam's Repair, which he operated until health challenges led him to dialysis and eventually a transplant in 2012. Once he was able, he started getting more involved in farming with his father and father-in-law.

In 1991, Brad married Dana Tickle in Grant, Nebraska, and the couple made their home in Grant. He loved NASCAR and Husker football. He took great pride in his 1970 Chevelle, which made its way into numerous car shows over the years. Brad was known for his skill in fixing just about anything mechanical. He also had a great love of rock music played at a volume that would rattle things off the walls.

Brad was outgoing, with a great sense of humor. He seemed to know everyone and his personality had a way of creating fast friends. His knack for interacting with people served him well over the years, especially during his time helping at Tharp Auction.

Brad deeply cherished his family, most of all, especially treasuring the moments he spent with his granddaughters, some of the only people in the world who got to play with his John Deere tractor collection.

Brad was preceded in death by his infant brother, Neal; grandparents, Vance and Esther McArtor, and David and Dorothy McCulley.

Survivors include his wife, Dana of Grant; sons, Joshua (Krystina) Johner of Huntsville, Alabama, and Christopher (Azia) Johner of Beaufort, North Carolina, Brent McArtor of Sidney; parents, Jerry and Carolyn McArtor; sister, Christy (Marty) Stratman of Brush, Colorado; four granddaughters, Urijah, Keira, Lydia, and Henlli; in-laws, Galen and Judy Tickle of Grant; siblings-in-law, Brenda and Steve McClenahan of Grant; Sheila (Joe) Uridil of Chino Valley, Arizona; and many other relatives and close friends.

Memorial services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday at the Grant United Methodist Church, with Pastor Ceciliah Igweta Keega officiating. Interment will follow in the Grant Fairview Cemetery.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, from 2 p.m. until 6 p.m., at the Bullock-Long Funeral Home in Grant.
