Beth Louise Krems, 74, of Grant, Nebraska, went home to be in the arms of Jesus in the early morning hours of Wednesday, March 18, 2026.
Beth was born on September 23, 1951, in St. Francis, Kansas to Ira Addison Keever and Viola Belle (Wilson) Keever. She was raised in Sterling, Colorado, and graduated from Sterling High School (Class of 1969) before attending business college in Denver.
On January 29, 1972, Beth married the love of her life, Robert M. Krems, in Big Springs, Nebraska. Together they built a life centered on faith, family, and service-living in Denver and Littleton before settling permanently in Grant, Nebraska in 1981.
Beth's life was defined by her quiet strength, gentle spirit, and deep love for others. For more than 40 years, she opened her home to care for children, nurturing and guiding them as if they were her own. The impact she made on those families is lasting and immeasurable. She had a special way of making everyone feel safe, valued, and loved.
Her faith in Jesus was the foundation of her life. Beth lived that faith daily-through her kindness, humility, and servant's heart. She found great joy in music and shared this gift with the community, serving her churches by playing organ, piano, and being part of the music ministry teams.
Beth also had a deep love for reading and books, finding both joy and quiet reflection in the pages she read. She valued the peace that reading her Bible and devotionals brought to her daily life. In addition, she took pride in caring for her health and well-being, maintaining a commitment to fitness, reflecting her discipline and positive outlook on life. She could often be found power-walking around Grant or taking classes at the Fitness Center. She often took time along the way to visit and connect with friends throughout the community.
Beth cherished her family & friendships above all else. She especially loved attending her grandchildren's activities and events, often present in the stands or watching online, offering encouragement, and taking pride in each of their accomplishments. Time spent together -whether in quiet moments or joyful gatherings, or cooking large Holiday meals - were very important to her.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her in-laws, Melvin and Margaret Krems; sister-in-law, Jolene Krems; her brother, Mark E. Keever and her beloved son, David Anthony Krems.
She leaves behind her husband of 54 years, Robert Krems of Grant; her daughters, Pennie Krems of Ault, Colorado, and Kimberly (Wade) Hill of Ogallala; her daughter-in-law, Rebekah Krems of Omaha; her treasured grandchildren, Steel (Abbie), Meeka, Korbin and Shelbie Hoke; Lila, Emelia, Viola, Sofia, and Alivia Hill; and Cooper Krems. She is also survived by her sisters, Donna Ohman, Carolyn (Ron) Brookman, Iola (Roger) Trautmann, and Heather Graves; her sister-in-law, Carol (Jim) King; and many nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
Beth will be remembered for her gentle heart, her steadfast faith, and the love she so freely gave. Her legacy lives on in the many lives she touched and in the family she cherished so deeply.
