TURZAH A. KNOTWELL HENDRICKS MICHAEL, 90 of Grant, passed away Friday, October 25, 2019 at Perkins County Community Hospital in Grant.

Turzah was born January 31, 1929 at Indianola, Nebraska to Fred and Hazel (Fye) Knotwell. In 1941, she moved with her family to Grant when Fred bought the Rexall Drug Store. Turzah attended the Grant schools, graduating with the class of 1947, and graduated from Stephens College in Columbia, Missouri. In 1950, she married Hoyt Hendricks, and they made their home south of Grant on the Walking 7 Ranch. Two sons were born to this union, Cecil and Timothy. Hoyt was killed in an airplane accident in 1973. Turzah had been active in Eastern Star serving as a past matron and was a member of the Methodist Church. Turzah later married Jess Michael. They became snow birds spending their winters in the southern states and Baja Mexico. She enjoyed golfing and playing cards. A highlight in Turzah's summers was her get together with her sisters Roesetha and Freddie and nieces Connie Brieling and Shelia Fila for a golf, shopping, eating, and giggling outing. They started in 1984, and it continued every year until 2014, it was known as the "Knotwell Special".

She is survived by her husband, Jess of Grant; sons, Cecil (Beverly) and Tim both of Grant; four grandsons, Chad (Nicole) of Imperial, Michael (Becca) of Colorado, Ryan (Taren) of Torrington, WY, and Taylor (Jami) of Grant; granddaughter, Shawnda (Nate Ducker) of Grant; great-grandchildren, Carter, Avery and Reese of Torrington, WY, Emery of Grant, Kaige of Colorado and Clay and Lane of Imperial; step-son, David (Bonnie) Michael of Whittier, CA; step-daughter, Michelle (Matt) Soderland of Boise, Idaho; sister, Freddie (Gerald) Tickle of Cozad; sister-in-law, Ramona Schroeder of Kearney; and several nieces and nephews, great- and great-great-nieces and nephews.
