Nancy L. Reynolds

July 10, 1952 — November 17, 2018

NANCY L. REYNOLDS, 66 of Venango, passed away Saturday, November 17, 2018, at Julesburg, CO as a result of a motor vehicle accident.

Nancy was born July 10, 1952, at Wray, Colorado to LaVern and Nettie (Fisher) Sheldon. Attended Laird grade school before graduating from Wray High School with the class of 1970.

It was clear early on in Nancy's life that she had a heart for serving. She excelled in the kitchen, and it wasn't long before she was working in food service. From Mrs. Fields in Denver, CO, the sale barn in Imperial, The Grid Iron in Ovid, CO, the Elks Club in Wray, CO, Nancy had a passion for delivering great food and that distinctive experience that people seek when they get to eat out. Life eventually brought Nancy to Venango, where she owned and operated the Tin Can Diner, and catered meals all around the area. Nancy also baked fabulous cakes that she went to great efforts to decorate, not stopping until it was "just right."

At the age of 50, Nancy was gripped with the desire to become an EMT and serve with the Venango Volunteer Fire Department. While this sudden urge was met with skepticism by her family, they knew that once Nancy made up her mind, she wouldn't be deterred. She made many dear friends while serving her community in this way, and Nancy grew to be deeply gratified with her involvement.

Family was of unquestioned importance to Nancy. Her daughters added tremendous purpose to her life, her siblings added laughter and genuine kinship, and her grandchildren brightened her world. Not to be forgotten is her dog, Allie, who was also a treasured part of Nancy's life.

Nancy's departure from this life comes has come far too abruptly and soon. However, her legacy of love, friendship, kindness, and service cannot be overwhelmed by misfortune. Nancy will be celebrated and remembered.

Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, and a brother, Dennis Sheldon.

Survivors include her daughters, Tracy Jo Reynolds (Lucio Rincon) of Alamosa, CO, and Bobbi Jo MaGee (Matthew Wright) of Broken Bow; her beloved grandchildren, Seynabou MaGee and Travan Wright both of Broken Bow; her sisters Lois (Dan) Donohue of Bird City, KS, Susan (Tom) Quint of Akron, CO; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and friends.

Memorials are suggested to the Venango Volunteer Fire Department in Nancy's memory. Condolences may be shared at bullocklongfuneralhome.com.

Services will be held on Monday, November 26, 2018, at 11:00 a.m. at the Phillips County Event Center in Holyoke, CO with Pastor Chris Costrini officiating. Burial will be in the Venango Cemetery.
