Evelyn F. Wolfe

EVELYN FAYE WOLFE was 81 years old at the time of her death on April 25, 2017.

She passed peacefully at Great Plains Health in North Platte, Nebraska, after having been admitted for emergency kidney dialysis.

Prior to death, she resided for the last several years at the Golden Ours Convalescent Home in Grant, Nebraska. While there, she spent her time reading, and listening to books on tape, and was well cared for, and loved by her caregivers.

Evelyn was born on November 18, 1935 at the Hospital in Monte Vista, Colorado. She was the third of five siblings, and was the last surviving family member born to her parents, Arthur and Lillie Monter.

Her parents, Art and Lillie, were both born in the state Nebraska, and after being married, they moved to Colorado where they owned a farm and raised their children. Many of their relatives continue to live in Nebraska. Her parents were instrumental in the building of St Peters Lutheran School, where Evelyn and her siblings, Limon, MaryAnn, Dorothy, and Raymond were educated. Evelyn learned to play the piano, and later, served as music director and organist for the Lutheran Church where all her children were confirmed into the Christian Faith. She is survived by her 3 sons: Richard (TX), Jerry (FL), David (AK), and one daughter: Nancy; (CO), and previously was married to her one and only husband, John, who continues to reside in Colorado with his current wife, Alice.

In Marriage, she was both housewife and bookkeeper for the family businesses. Evelyn devoted much of her time to her children as a Scout Leader, Church typist & organist, and Sunday school teacher. In retirement, she was an active member of Zion Lutheran Church in Loveland, Colorado, where she is mourned by many near and dear friends.

A disposition of cremated remains will take place at a time and location yet to be announced.

In lieu of flowers, her family suggests a memorial in her name be sent to the Resident Discretionary Fund, C/O Golden Ours Convalescent Home, 900 Lincoln Ave, Grant, NE 69140.
