Lillian Seip was born on January 13, 1928 in Chase County southeast of Venango Nebraska. She was the only child of Ralph and Laura Mefford Maine. Lillian attended rural school and later attended school in Venango where she graduated in 1945.
Lillian was married to Gerald Seip in Scottsbluff on September 15, 1946. They lived their entire married life southeast of Venango. Lillian continued to maintain her farm home after Gerald died in August of 1999. She had been failing in health and had moved to the St. John’s Care Center in Kearney the first week of January where she could be closer to her daughters. She died at St. John’s on Saturday afternoon, January 9, 2010. She had reached the age of 81.
While Lillian’s parents were alive, she was an active member of the Grant 4-Square Gospel Church. She later became an active member at the Venango Community Church.
In addition to her husband, Lillian was preceded in death by a son, Merrill who died in January of 2007. She is survived by 1 son - Rick and his wife Marcia of rural Wallace; 2 daughters - Penny and her husband Gene Dietz and Shelly and her husband Jason Brandt - all of Kearney; 10 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, January 13, 2010 at 1:30 p.m. at the Venango Community Church with Pastor Kevin Hausman, officiating. Burial in the Venango Cemetery.
