Juanita Ensz was born on June 24, 1929 at Trementina, New Mexico. She was the youngest of five children born to Lizardo and Julia Encinias Sanchez. She grew up in the Trementina area and attended school at Las Vegas New Mexico, Santa Fe, and spent her senior year of high school at Mound Ridge Kansas.
Juanita was married to David Ensz on April 22, 1951 at Inman Kansas. They made their home in Inman until purchasing land in Nebraska, southwest of Paxton in 1973. They moved in 1974 and Juanita spent the rest of her life there. She had been dealing with health problems and had been transferred to the Ogallala Community Hospital where she died early Saturday morning, January 9, 2010. She had reached the age of 80 years.
In addition to her parents, Juanita was preceded in death by her four brothers. She is survived by her husband, David; 3 sons- Kenneth and his wife Alice of Paxton, Carlos and his wife Judy of Bruneau Idaho, and Randy and his wife Terry of rural Ogallala; 3 daughters- Virgina and her husband Tim Unruh and Cynthia and her husband Barry Baerg, all of rural Paxton, and Nadine and her husband David Hiebert of Rosenort Manitoba; 23 grandchildren and 24 great grandchilden; other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, January 12, 2010 at the Golden Plains Mennonite Church west of Madrid with ministers Ray Frank and Shawn Becker officiating. Burial will be in the Madrid Cemetery.
